Terms of Service

1. Service Description

AI for a Buck ("we", "our", or "the Service") provides pay-as-you-go access to AI language models for $1 USD. The Service allows you to interact with various AI models including Claude, GPT, and others through a web interface.

2. Payment Terms

• Pay-Per-Use: You pay $1 USD per session through Stripe.
• Non-Refundable: All payments are final and non-refundable. Once you start using the Service, your payment is considered consumed.
• Usage Limits: Each $1 payment provides approximately 50¢ of AI usage credit. The exact number of messages varies by model.
• Session Expiry: Session credits expire when depleted or when you close your browser session.

3. User Responsibilities

• You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service.
• You agree not to use the Service for illegal, harmful, or abusive purposes.
• You are responsible for all content you submit to the Service.
• You agree to comply with the usage policies of the underlying AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.).
• You acknowledge that AI-generated content may be inaccurate and should not be relied upon without verification.

4. Service Availability

We provide the Service "as is" without any guarantees. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or third-party service disruptions. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

5. Intellectual Property

• Your Content: You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service.
• AI Output: AI-generated responses may not be unique. We make no intellectual property claims on AI-generated content.
• Service Code: The Service interface and underlying code are our proprietary property.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the Service;
• Any inaccurate or harmful AI-generated content;
• Unauthorized access to your data;
• Any other matter relating to the Service.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (i.e., $1 USD).

7. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers:

• Stripe: Payment processing (subject to Stripe's terms)
• OpenAI: GPT models (subject to OpenAI's terms)
• Anthropic: Claude models (subject to Anthropic's terms)
• Hetzner Cloud: Infrastructure hosting in Germany/Finland

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability. Upon termination, you will not be entitled to any refunds.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last Updated" date.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
